CHICO, Calif. -
A hazmat situation in Chico prompted Chico Fire Department to close a city block at East 20th and Mulberry Streets.
The hazmat spill was reported at 8:13 a.m. Monday.
Firefighters said it appears two cylinders fell from a truck. One was leaking liquid oxygen onto the asphalt. The second cylinder contained carbon dioxide and was not leaking.
The streets have been closed in the area around East 20th and Mulberry Streets.
Chico Police Department said the roads in the area will remain closed for an undetermined amount of time, until the area is deemed safe.
