Rescue in Chico's Upper Bidwell Park after hiker falls

Chico fire responds to a man falling off a cliff on the south side of the creek, near the Diversion Dam in Upper Bidwell Park. The person fell at least 40 feet. The incident happened about 5:30pm. The victim is getting treatment at the scene. He was reportedly trying to climb up the cliff from the creek. The person is awake and moving. The Enloe Flightcare helicopter landed at the Diversion Dam parking lot, just above Bear Hole to transport him. There is woman with him, but it's unclear if she was hiking with him. He has yet to be transported and his exact injuries are unknown at this time. We have a reporter on scene and will bring you the latest on Action News Now at 10 and 11 tonight.
